@bluecherrys456 The turtles would most likely eat them fast.
@earthling1984 I had an aquarium with a hollow log in it aswell, but.. one got stuck and.. He drowned
@sirderek10 they just know you, and know you feed them so they are ‘begging’ kind of. Don’t overfeed them just because they are doing this. It is good that they know you
How do you empty the water out of your tank?
@sirderek10 ok thanks cause they just get kind of annoying cause they splash water when i try to feed them
Are you happy with your kordon ramp? Do you have any suggestions on where to buy uvb/uva light bulbs? Thanks
@kc122la the green ramp you mean? yeah it was nice for a while, but the suction cups got bad over time, they can be replaced though. I buy much of my pet supplies online, often from drs foster & smith website.
@KoSpecu with a siphon tube
i have a question. i have a baby western painted turtle and he lives in a small aquarium and i dont have a water heater or a heat lamp is that ok until he gets a lil bigger. he is only like three inches
@MrColeman77 no that isn’t ok. for a 3inch turtle, you should already have him in at least a 30gallon tank. Painted turtles can reach 11inches or more sometimes, so when an adult, he/she may need a 100+ gallon tank. Water heater isn’t necessary if the tank water is in the mid 70′s, but a UVB/heat lamp with a completely dry basking area is *needed*.
how big does a fully grown turtle have to be?
is that an Oscar in there? He’s awesome.
I have a question: I set up my 40 gallon tank last night for my incoming Texas map hatchlings. I used Zoomed’s vita-sand calcium carbonate bedding and the stuff is still cloudy as hell 8 hours later. How did you get your water so clear?
@tachikoma747 just wait longer, it will settle
what size tank would i need for an adult mississippi mapp??? plz reply
@3xNMx3 75gallon would be good
I just got a red-eared turtle. I have no idea what i should do. Its pretty small, probably a month old(I don’t know) I need helps. What do you think I should get for starters? It doesn’t seem to eat anything. I looked some up, and gave him some vegetables. But he’s not eating it. I just got him, and I only have a a tank. What do you recommend of getting first? I’m in a tight budget.
@QThatguyQ watch my vid called, ‘before you buy a turtle watch this video’
for a red eared slider adult?
Those birds a so anoying
what was the brand of that u.v.b heating lamp?
@QThatguyQ well when their young they like to eat meat so feed it some tiny pellets or give it tiny pieces of that like bite size ok i hope this helps you oh you can get pellets at a nearby petshop or petsmart ask for newborn pellets ok i hope this helps
@earthing1984
hi, what kinda turtle should i get if i just want a really small turtle and one that won’t grow alot.
i have a question: i have to red ear sliders with respiratory infection. I took them to the vet today and he basically told me that since they’re too small, he can’t inject the antibiotics and I have to administer the medication orally. The problem is is that i can’t get them to open their mouths.
My question is: if you have been in this situation, what are some methods that i can do to get my turtle’s to open their mouths so i can administer the antibiotics orally?
@tricolor707 that is a hard one. Usually you would force feed them with a very small ended syringe. Stick it on the side/corner of their mouth and try to get them to open their mouth enough for you to squeeze in the medicine. If that doesn’t work, you could try putting the medicine on some food they eat, and see if you can get them to eat the food while not in water.
